CIVILIZATION ONE: New Album To Feature Guest Appearance By HELLOWEEN Guitarist

August 29, 2009

CIVILIZATION ONE, the band led by singer Chitral "Chity" Somapala (ex-FIREWIND, FARO, AVALON) and bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Pélisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY),has finished recording its sophomore album, "Calling the Gods".

Having overcome the obstacles posed by several lineup changes, CIVILIZATION ONE has produced an LP that "continues with the sound forged on their debut release, 'Revolution Rising', but now with more of an emphasis placed on melodic hooks and melodies," according to a press release.

"Calling The Gods" was mixed by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, SYMPHONY X, MOB RULES, SAGA),and features a guest solo by HELLOWEEN guitarist Sascha Gerstner

CIVILIZATION ONE performed in Colombo, Sri Lanka in November 2008 as part of the TNL Onstage event at the SLECC (Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre). This marked the first time a Western metal group has played in Sri Lanka, and it was a homecoming for Somapala, the Sri Lankan-born singer who had been living in Europe for 22 years. Back in his home country, he did the remarkable "Lion Beer Song" which was played on radio/TV commercials throughout the country and during international cricket events.
