January 15, 2009

John Benson of The Plain Dealer reports that long-running Cleveland metallers are somewhere between calling it quits and taking a long hiatus in order to allow Jeff Shirilla to concentrate on new project THIS IS ANTARCTICA. ABDULLAHShirilla, Alan Seibert (guitar),Aaron Dallison (guitar),Ed Stephens (bass) and Kevin Latchaw (drums) — has planned a farewell show this weekend.

"Yeah, I didn't want to make too much hubbub about it," Shirilla said. "We're all kind of involved in different projects now, so we thought it would be a good idea to put ABDULLAH on hold for a while. We had a good run and it just seems like we've been in a little bit of a rut, so why not have one last bash. I'm ready to move forward with a new band."
