CLEVELAND's MIDNIGHT Records PITTSBURGH STEELERS Song

January 25, 2011

Cleveland, Ohio based thrash/black metallers MIDNIGHT have recorded "Black And The Gold", a reworked version of their song "Black Rock 'N' Roll", in support of the town's arch football rivals football the Pittsburgh Steelers. The new version of the track is not commercially available.

"Being a Steelers fan since I was just a little puke kid made growing up in the Cleveland area tough," says MIDNIGHT vocalist/bassist Athenar, who also plays bass in Cleveland thrash metal legends DESTRUCTOR. "I've always been a natural rebel and a fan of the bad guys so I made this tune with the sole intention of getting Steelers fans and players pumped for the games and ready to destroy people!"

"Black Rock 'N' Roll" originally appeared on the band's 2008 "Farewell To Hell" EP.

The Steelers will play Super Bowl against the Green Bay Packers, taking place on February 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

A demented burst of first-wave black metal exactly 30 years too late but no less ripping and unholy, MIDNIGHT rapes your ears with a combination of sordid blasphemy and perverted glam metal. The band's sound has been compared to VENOM, HELLHAMMER and BATHORY rising out of the NWOBHM grave and shaking the cobwebs loose for another gloriously dirty, catchy spell of punky black metal.

MIDNIGHT hass enjoyed international success in the metal underground. In addition to playing shows in the U.S., the band has toured Canada, Europe, Mexico and Japan and released several internationally distributed albums and EPs.
