CLOUDSCAPE Guitarist Forced To Sit Out Oslo Concert
August 15, 2009Swedish metallers CLOUDSCAPE have issued the following update:
"CLOUDSCAPE will perform live at Prog Metal Fest in Oslo, Norway (at Smuget) on August 22, but they will only be four on stage. Guitar player Björn Eliasson sadly suffers severe injuries on his spine/back and is unable to join CLOUDSCAPE during this concert due to the pain it causes him. He is really sad about this, but health comes first when it comes to such painful injuries. But, don't worry, Björn is recovering nicely and will be back on his feet very soon. The rest of CLOUDSCAPE promises to do a great and lively show at Prog Metal Fest with a 60-minute setlist spanning music from their three albums!!"
CLOUDSCAPE recently parted ways with bassist Haynes Pherson and replaced him with Håkan Nyander from SUPREME MAJESTY.
A photo of the new CLOUDSCAPE lineup can be viewed below (from left to right: Fredrik Joakimsson [drums], Björn Eliasson [guitar], Mike Andersson [vocals], Patrik Svärd [guitar] and Håkan Nyander [bass]).
"Darkest Legacy", the latest video from CLOUDSCAPE, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed, directed and edited by Rainer Holmgren (PAIN OF SALVATION, ARSIS).
"Darkest Legacy" comes off the group's third album, "Global Drama", which was released last summer in Europe through Goldencore/Roastinghouse Records and in North America through Nightmare Records.
CLOUDSCAPE previously described "Global Drama" as "the most varied and interesting album by CLOUDSCAPE so far. It contains a few really hard and raw metal songs and there will also be a few more atmospheric and dynamic songs progressively spiced."
The CD was produced by Pontus Lindmark and recorded at RoastingHouse Studios in Malmö, Sweden.
