Clues At LOLLAPALOOZA Site Point To SOUNDGARDEN, GREEN DAY

April 2, 2010

According to The Pulse of Radio, the web site for the 2010 Lollapalooza festival is revealing the lineup on a giant "Wheel of Fortune"-type board, with one letter filling in at a time. At press time, the letters "O" and "R" had been revealed, making it almost certain that the headliners will include, as rumored for weeks, SOUNDGARDEN, GREEN DAY, THE STROKES, PHOENIX and ARCADE FIRE. Another completely blank name will likely be revealed as LADY GAGA. The complete lineup of more than 100 bands will be unveiled next Tuesday (April 6).

SOUNDGARDEN's involvement has been rumored since early this year, when a cryptic announcement from singer Chris Cornell seemed to indicate that the band was returning after a 13-year hiatus.

According to Antiquiet.com, the SOUNDGARDEN reunion has not been made official yet because of the other band members' alleged difficulty in working with Cornell's wife and manager, Vicky.

Lollapalooza is scheduled to take place on August 6-8 at Grant Park in downtown Chicago.

Other acts who may be performing include AFI, SOCIAL DISTORTION, THE BLACK KEYS, DEFTONES, SPOON, DEVO, CYPRESS HILL and more.
