CODE Announces New Touring Drummer

September 10, 2009

CODE — the British/Norwegian black metal project featuring bassist/backing vocalist Viper (a.k.a. Vicotnik from DHG),guitarist/songwriter Aort and vocalist Kvohst (DØDHEIMSGARD) — has issued the following update:

"We would like to welcome and introduce a new live drummer into our ranks who has been working with tireless discipline behind the scenes to prepare the raw backbone of our live shows on the forthcoming European tour. The cult has been injected with new blood and with more rehearsals than we have ever managed to have in the history of the band, we look forward to playing you songs from [2005's] 'Nouveau Gloaming' and [2009's] 'Resplendent Grotesque' in a way that you haven't heard them before – enhancing the spirit of CODE.

"We hope you will join us in welcoming Vooren into the cult of the wayside pastors and on to the stage at your local show!"

CODE will tour Europe in September and October with Icelandic cowboys SOLSTAFIR and German occultists SECRETS OF THE MOON. The group states, "We will be operating a rotating headline policy, so get there early to be sure to see us all. We will also be joined by BORKNAGAR for the shows on September 24, September 25 and September 26."

A full list of dates can be found on the band's MySpace page.

CODE's second album, "Resplendent Grotesque", was released on June 1.

According to the band, the follow-up to 2005's "Nouveau Gloaming" contains "songs of necrospiritual dust and desertion, crafted by bony hands in blackbird gloves." Aort previously stated about the CD, "Adrian completely devastated the drums for this recording and Vicotnik has manageed to really outdo himself with his most inspired bass work yet. I think we have all raised the bar with this recording and we are itching to get these morbid hymns out to you."

CODE live in Lithuania - July 2009:
