COLD's Hurricane Memories
September 16, 2005Launch Radio Networks reports: Hailing from Jacksonville, Florida, the members of COLD are no strangers to hurricanes. But none of them have ever experienced anything like the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. Bassist Jeremy Marshall, however, told Launch that he once got an inkling of what that might look like. "I think it was last year, Pensacola got hit really bad," he said. "I think it was Ivan or whatever, but I went to Pensacola like a week after it had hit. It looked like an atomic bomb had gone off. That was the first time ever I was afraid of a hurricane 'cause, growing up, we got excited about it. But then once you see, when one hits directly, what happens, you know, you finally get scared of 'em."
COLD's fourth album, "A Different Kind Of Pain", debuted at No. 26 on the Billboard Top 200 last week with first-week sales of just under 37,000 copies.
COLD is currently on a North American tour with opening act SMILE EMPTY SOUL. The band plays in Louisville, Kentucky tonight and Huntington, West Virginia tomorrow.
