COLDWORKER: 'The Contaminated Void' Artwork Revealed

September 15, 2006

Drummer Anders Jakobson (ex-NASUM) of the Örebro, Sweden-based band COLDWORKER has uploaded the cover artwork for COLDWORKER's upcoming debut album, "The Contaminated Void", to the band's official web site.

Commented Jakobson: "The CD package is a combination of a normal paper booklet and clear vellum with white ink. The white stuff you see on the left image is actually white ink on clear vellum. Lift the vellum and a full color collage reveals itself. The booklet has a total of six silhouettes/collages who work together in virtually many layers. It's a really cool idea and very well executed. As Joel said when we first was presented the idea: 'Orion [Landau, artist at Relapse Records] has really grasped the concept of 'The Contaminated Void'.'

"This idea was not possible to 'translate' to the LP artwork which led to another interesting solution. The LP will come in a gatefold sleeve with reworked and additional artwork. Very, very nice."

"The Contaminated Void" was recorded by the band this past June and mixed by Dan Swanö. Advance songtitles include "The Interloper", "An Unforgiving Season", "The Contaminated Void", "Return To Ashes", "Strain At The Leash", "Flammable", "Antidote", "Heart Shaped Violence" and "Generations Decay". A three-minute MP3 file containing audio samples of "The Contaminated Void" can be downloaded here.

"The Contaminated Void" release dates:

Europe/Japan: November 6, 2006
U.S.: January 23, 2007
