CONQUEST OF STEEL Preparing To Record New Album

October 28, 2008

UK heavy metal warriors CONQUEST OF STEEL are preparing to enter the studio to record their third album, "Storm Sword (Rise of the Dread Queen)", a concept effort which charts the rise and fall of an empire. Recording wil take place once again at Priory and Red Flag Studios and mixing and mastering should be complete by the end of the year. A February 2009 release is expected.

A competition has been launched for fans of the band to submit artwork ideas to enable the CONQUEST artist to complete her work. According to a press release, "Your task is to design the image for the front cover. Their artist is currently sharpening her brushes and wetting her pencils in preparation for your ideas, but worry not — artistic skill is not required. Your ideas can be submitted via a written brief or thumbnail sketch, hell stickmen will do."

The winner of the competition will have his or her name credited and the top five entrants will receive a superb CONQUEST goodie bag, featuring copies of all the band's recorded output (including the ultra-rare "Stadiums of Steel" vinyl) and much more.
