COREY TAYLOR Goes Acoustic At U.K.'s SONISPHERE (Video)

August 2, 2010

Fan-filmed video footage of SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor's July 31, 2010 solo acoustic performance at the U.K. edition of the Sonisphere festival at Knebworth Park can be viewed below.

An excerpt from Metal Hammer's review of the concert: "Corey Taylor's acoustic set is a one-stop example of how a human voice can truly be other-worldly. With just an acoustic guitar for backing, Taylor is able to hold a couple of thousand people within his grasp with total ease and through a set that includes a storming version of CHRIS ISAAK's 'Wicked Game' and STONE SOUR's classic 'Bother', it might not have the impact of a SS show or the sonic force of SLIPKNOT crushing the fuck out of the place but it is just as intense and just as powerful."

The Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas unveiled a special new Corey Taylor case on July 15. The case features masks and uniforms that Corey has worn on stage with SLIPKNOT as well as some of his plaques, photographs and some other special memorabilia.

To celebrate this special honor, Corey performed two solo shows at the Hard Rock. The first was Poolside on July 16 with his JUNK BEER KIDNAP BAND. The second was a July 17 solo acoustic show at Wasted Space in the Hard Rock.
