CORNERSTONE Announces New Japanese Record Deal
May 22, 2007CORNERSTONE, the Danish/British melodic metal band featuring YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/ex-RAINBOW frontman Doogie White and ex-ROYAL HUNT bassist Steen Mogensen, has issued the following update:
"A huge thanks to all of you who came and sang and rawked out with CORNERSTONE [on the recent European tour]. Those of you who were there know just how hard the band kicked from the opening chord to the final drum flurry from Big Al.
"The band are looking to capitalise on the musical success of the tour and are looking at more dates for later in the year.
"Doogie says, 'It was great. So some of the venues were not bursting at the seams but we all had a blast and we have memories that will last a very long time. Everybody was very positive and the feeling in the band is that we must do this again very soon.'
"In other news CORNERSTONE are very pleased to announce a brand new Japanese deal with a brand new label, Dingwall.
"The Japanese market is very important to us and we all have a history with the Japanese fans that goes back a long way. So it is so good to have 'Two Tales of One Tomorrow' coming out as a domestic release there. There is one bonus track on the CD, 'Requiem', especially for the Japanese fans. The new record label is looking at possibly bringing us over to do two or three shows there. Now that, people, would be very, very special."
CORNERSTONE's latest album, entitled "Two Tales and One Tomorrow", was released in Europe in February via Massacre Records. A live album, "Cornerstone In Concert", was released in July 2005 in Japan via Yamaha Communications and in Europe through Massacre Records. The CD was recorded at several shows on the group's debut tour of Europe in January/Febuary 2005. Included in the package is a video clip of live and backstage footage from the band's private archives.
