Costa Rica's SIGHT OF EMPTINESS Honored At ACAM Awards

June 5, 2008

Costa Rica-based melodic extreme metallers SIGHT OF EMPTINESS were honored in the "Artist Of Greatest International Exposure 2007" category at the ACAM Awards, which were held on May 26 at the Auditorio del Museo de los Nios in San Jose, Costa Rica.

ACAM (Asociacion de Compositores y Autores Musicales de Costa Rica) is the equivalent of ASCAP in the USA.

A photo of SIGHT OF EMPTINESS members Rod Chaverri, Diego Paniagua, Eduardo Chacn, Rafael Castro and Freddy Chu with their ACAM award can be viewed below.

Commented the band: "We are extremely honored, and of course, surprised for this award. [To be] an extreme metal band and win over a jazz and a Latin pop band is just priceless. Finally, a metal band who achieves this kind of recognition. People in Costa Rica and the world are taking notice; we are a band to watch out for. We have big goals and this award really helps to remind us that we are on the right way. Expect a new album of extreme melodic metal without fillers."

"Wall of Pain", the new video from SIGHT OF EMPTINESS, can be viewed below. The clip was filmed by Niclas Swanlund during SIGHT OF EMPTINESS' performance on the main stage at last year's Bloodstock Open Air festival.
