COURT TV Asks To Televise Trial Of Former GREAT WHITE Tour Manager
December 16, 2005The Associated Press is reporting that Court TV has asked permission to televise the first criminal trial arising from the 2003 Station nightclub fire.
Former GREAT WHITE tour manager Daniel Biechele (BEEK'-lee) faces 200 counts of involuntary manslaughter. He's accused of setting off the pyrotechnics that are blamed for triggering the fire — which killed 100 people and injured more than 200 others.
A judge this week set a May First trial date for Biechele. Club owners Jeffrey and Michael Derderian will each be tried after the conclusion of that first trial.
A Court TV spokeswoman says the nightclub fire case is a tragic story and that people will be interested in the outcome.
Biechele's lawyer wants to discuss the matter before any decision is made.
