Cover Artist HUGH GILMOUR: BLACK SABBATH Ruined My Life

July 28, 2005

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi's official web site, Iommi.com, has posted the "fascinating story" of Hugh Gilmour's involvement with Tony and BLACK SABBATH. Hugh recently designed the cover artwork for Tony's new solo album, "Fused", and has worked on BLACK SABBATH projects for the past ten years. Iommi.com will be running this in three instalments, with the first one detailing how Hugh discovered BLACK SABBATH and the beginnings of his career as a graphic designer. Click here to read the first part of the story.

"Fused" sold approximately 3,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Joining Iommi on "Fused" is ex-DEEP PURPLE legend Glenn Hughes and former JOHN MELLENCAMP drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has also played sessions with the likes of THE ROLLING STONES, BOB DYLAN, ROD STEWART, ALICE COOPER, BOB SEGER, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and countless others. The CD cover was designed by U.K.-based designer Hugh Gilmour, who has previously worked on covers for BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, IRON MAIDEN, MOTÖRHEAD, DAVID BOWIE and THE BEATLES, among others. A tour to promote "Fused" will take place later this year after BLACK SABBATH finishes headlining the 10th anniversary Ozzfest tour.
