CRADLE OF FILTH Explain Ecuador Concert Cancellation

September 28, 2004

CRADLE OF FILTH have issued a more detailed explanation for the cancellation of their scheduled performance in Ecuador last Saturday (Sept. 25). The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"CRADLE OF FILTH wish to apologise to all their fans in Ecuador for not making the show in Quito on Saturday. This was entirely out of the band’s control.

"We regret if anybody was hurt and that full information was not passed on to the fans.

"The band, due to a change in airline schedules, had embarked on a long and demanding day to reach Quito — leaving Mexico at 05.00 Saturday and taking three separate flights to get to Quito.Unfortunately when they tried to land in Quito they were told the runway had been closed for maintenance and although it should have reopened, it would not do so until at least 8.30pm; so the plane was then diverted to Cali in Colombia.

"On arrival in Cali they were then told there was no confirmed departure time to Quito, but it would be at least a few hours.

"This meant by the time they flew to Quito, cleared customs, collected equipment, got to the venue and set up the equipment, it would have been some time in the early hours of the following day, before the show would be ready to happen. At this point a decision was made that it was not possible for the show to go ahead."
