July 3, 2007Fan-filmed video footage of Swedish/Finnish glam rockers CRASHDIET performing the song "Queen Obscene" at the Peace & Love festival, which took place June 28-30 in the center of Borlänge, Sweden, has been posted at YouTube.
MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist Mick Mars flew into Stockholm, Sweden last month to help CRASHDIET write some songs for their upcoming album. No less than three songs were cut for the as-yet-untitled CD, which is scheduled for release in September via Universal Records.
CRASHDIET's debut live appearance with their new singer, H. Olliver Twisted (of the Finnish hard rock act RECKLESS LOVE) took place on January 21 at the Rest in Sleaze festival at Debaser in Stockholm, Sweden.
H. Olliver Twisted joined CRASHDIET as the replacement for David Hellman (a.k.a. Dave Lepard),who committed suicide in January 2006.
Hellman was found dead on January 20, 2006 at his apartment in the Swedish city of Uppsala, north of Stockholm. It was reported in several places that he hanged himself, although this was never officially confirmed.
CRASHDIET is a Stockholm, Sweden-based Eighties hard rock-style band whose debut album, "Rest in Sleaze", entered the Swedish national album chart at position No. 12.
CRASHDIET is reportedly the first "sleaze rock" band in over 10 years to be signed directly to a major company — Universal Music.
