CROCELL Continuing Work On New Material

May 20, 2009

CROCELL, winner of the "Metal Talent" category at Danish Metal Awards 2008, is in the process of writing songs for the follow-up to the band's debut CD, "The God We Drowned". Guitarist Smukke Ken coments: "We have written seven new songs for the upcoming album, four of which" — "In the Age of Iron and Rust", "Thieves, Whores and Heretics", "The Stranger", and "After the Take of Winter" — "can be heard in a pre-production version on our MySpace profile. The songs combine fast and very groovy riffs but this time we also try to incorporate some more atmosphere and gloomy feeling in the music. The plan is that we will record 12-14 songs and take the 10 songs that we feel are the best and most suited for the record."

CROCELL's new album will be recorded in September at Monorama Studio with producer Jacob "Formanden" Olsen.

The band has yet to announce a label home for the upcoming effort.

CROCELL will play at the Devilstone Open Air Festival in Lithuania in July (alongside SEPULTURA, KEEP OF KALESSIN, SINISTER, etc.) and at this year's SPOT festival.

CROCELL recently shot a video for "Behind The Veil", which is the opening track from "The God We Drowned". The clip was shot at Filmbyen in Aarhus, Denmark by Anton Iversen (guitar player in AVARICE) with assistance from Poul Iversen. Also available is a performance clip of the new song "Thieves, Whores and Heretics".

CROCELL is:

Magnus Jørgensen (ex-ADVERSARY) - Vocals
Ken Holst (COMPOS MENTIS, ex-ADVERSARY) - Guitar
Tommy Christensen (ex-SLUGS, NURSE) - Guitar
Andreas Posselt (COMPOS MENTIS, MARE CRISIUM) - Drums
Onkel Kusse (DEMOLITION INC.) - Bass
