CRUCIFIED BARBARA Places Third In Swedish National Semifinal For EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

February 22, 2010

Swedish all-girl hard rock band CRUCIFIED BARBARA — one of the participants in the third semifinal of this year's edition of Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national final for the Eurovision Song Contest — has issued the following update:

"It's totally crazy but hell of a fun time...

"We've spent the week in Gothenburg at the huge arena Scandinavium, rehearsing for the third part competition for Swedish Eurovision Song ContestMelodifestivalen.

"So yesterday it was finally time to perform in front of 10,000 peopleplus millions of TV viewers!

"The winners are all decided by the Swedish people, and we are very proud and happy to end up No. 3 (of eight popular Swedish artists!!). It shows that the song is great AND that there are a LOT of rockers in Sweden, and even if they normally don't watch this show, they're not gonna let the anyone else win this thing without at least a hard fight.

"This No. 3 position took us to the 'Second Chance' competion that will take place in two weeks in Örebro. Our goal is, of course, to make it all the way to the big final in the Globe Arena in Stockholm. :-)

"It's definitely a very different and strange thing for us to participate in, but we think it's extremely fun. People are so nice and supporting and we are just having a blast.

"We like doing new stuff!! And we also have the great possibility to have an amazing stage performance with fire and amazing lights..."

Eurovision.tv recently spoke with the members of CRUCIFIED BARBARA about their participation in the Melodifestivalen competition. The chat is now available for streaming below.

CRUCIFIED BARBARA's second full-length album, "Til Death Do Us Party", was released in February 2009. The CD was produced by Mats Levén (THERION, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, KRUX, TREAT, AT VANCE, ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA) and features guest appearances by guitarist Phil Campbell (MOTÖRHEAD) and Mats Levén.
