CRUMBSUCKERS Begin Rehearsing For Reunion Show
June 5, 2006Legendary New York hardcore/metal act CRUMBSUCKERS have begun rehearsing for their much-anticipated reunion show on August 3 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City to mark the 20th anniversary of their classic "Life of Dreams" release. Original members Chris Notaro (vocals),Chuck Lenihan (guitar; GENITORTURERS),Gary Meskil (bass; PRO-PAIN) and Dan Richardson (drums; LIFE OF AGONY, PRO-PAIN, STEREOMUD) will be accompanied by an as-yet-undisclosed second guitarist for the show, which will feature support from SUBZERO, IRONBOUND NYC (featuring members of SICK OF IT ALL, KILLING TIME, MAXIMUM PENALTY, STRAIGHT AHEAD and NAUSEA) and CAR BOMB.
Commented Notaro in a June 3, 2006 online posting: "I just got off the phone with Dan, our drummer. He told me my call was timed perfectly, as he and the boys were just leaving the rehearsal space in Tampa, Florida. Dan drove up from near Miami where he lives with his wife, and he met the others to jam. It was the first time all the guitars, bass and drums practiced together.
"For the past few months, the guitarists have been practicing, and the stuff is tight now. Gary recently went from practicing the bass parts alone until last week when he met up with Chuck and the second guitarist to play together. Finally today, as I already said, they all got together, and Dan says the 'Life Of Dreams' material is good to go! 'Beast On My Back' needs some more honing, and they will focus on that tomorrow. I'll be flying down to Florida...compliments of my sister who works with JetBlue, and I'll start getting the vocals going. So far so good guys! I, for one, want to make sure that we give you all the best possible show we can, especially after hearing how many of you are travelling some distances to see us.
"If you're coming from out of town, this is a good chance to see the 'new' 42nd st. We could thank [former New York City mayor] Rudy [Guilliani] for straightening that place out, heck it's like Disney World now!
"Things are looking up, and we are getting psyched to bring the house down. If all goes well on the 3rd...who knows what's to come?! At the very least us old cats will have a blast, I know, I already am; being that I haven't seen my old bandmates in at least 12 years or so.
"I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say who the second guitarist is?? I don't wanna get in no trouble. But I hear this guy is ripping it up, and has a great style!"
