CRYPT OF KERBEROS To Release New Seven-Inch Single

March 11, 2009

Swedish cult death metal group CRYPT OF KERBEROS will release a new seven-inch EP. According to the band, two new songs were written by guitarist Peter Bjärgö with lyrics by Bjärgö and drummerMattias Borgh. The new material which was recorded and produced at Bjärgö's Erebus Odora Studio and can be described as a return to the group's early sound. "Think of it as a continuation of the 1992 EP," says the guitarist. "These two new tracks really reek of down tuned guitars and slow crushing riffs combined with lyrics that deal with the world coming undone. The focus has been on dirty, old-style death metal more than on flashy technique."

CRYPT OF KERBEROS was formed in Sweden in 1990 and featured members from bands such as MACRODEX, HOUSE OF USHER, TYRANT, THE BLACK, EMBRYO, BLOOD MORTIZED, SOPHIA and ARCANA. The band released a number of recordings during the early '90s. CRYPT OF KERBEROS' last official release was the 1993 album "World of Myths". This album was a milestone in terms of technical and melodic death metal and it was universally praised by the critics. Since the 2005 release "The Macrodex of War" (Bleed Records, Australia),which featured previously released promotion recordings and two 7" EPs, there have been rumors about the band possibly recording new material.

CRYPT OF KERBEROS 2009 is:
