CYANOSIS Parts Ways With Bassist, Announces Replacement

June 29, 2010

Rotting Corpse Records recording artists CYANOSIS have announced the departure of bassist Kirk "Tony" Kangas. Replacing him is Andy Scheeler (ex-SILENT SCREAM, MASTER FURY, ATOMIC #9).

CYANOSIS is currently in pre-production for its new album, "Perpetuation of Eradication". Artwork for the release can be viewed below. Tentative songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Maimed (Beyond Recognition)", "Exsanguinate", "Farewell to the Flesh", "Pleasure in Torture", "Glutton for Punishment", "Reduced to Pulp", "Skin Suit", "Disinterred", and a remake of the ACCIDENTAL SUICIDE classic "Morbid Indulgence".

Commented guitarist Scott Zwieg: "Like most bands that are about to record an album, losing a bass player and seeking a replacement is never a pleasant experience. However, in our case, it couldn't have happened at a better time. Andy was looking to play, so after some e-mail exchanges we brought him out and after rehearsing one song with him, we knew he was a perfect fit."

Vocalist/guitarist Al Andrews added: "Andy is an old friend, and long-time supporter of CYANOSIS. He has given us shows with MONSTROSITY and MACABRE, and radio interviews when he was program director of WIPZ Radio, at UW Parkside in Kenosha. I wish nothing but the best for Kirk in his future endeavors, but Andy is a monster on bass, and precisely what was needed to make 'Perpetuation of Eradication' as sick and pummeling as possible."

CYANOSIS will perform at Midwest Heshfest II on September 4 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
