D-A-D: New Album Title Announced; First Track Available
July 18, 2008Danish rockers D-A-D will release their 10th studio album, "Monster Philosophy", on November 10 via EMI. The CD features 10 tracks produced by Jon "Joshua" Schumann, who has previously worked with MEW, KENT, KASHMIR and CARPARK NORTH, among others. The basic tracks were laid down in April in Long Branch, New Jersey and work continued at Mansion Studiet in Copenhagen, Denmark.
D-A-D frontman Jesper Binzer previously stated: "We have headhunted Joshua — for D-A-D a rare but very important choice. Joshua's efficient and fast way of working is 100% right for us. We have the same references and now the foundation for the recording is laid."
A rough-mix version of the new song "Revolution" has been posted on the band's MySpace page.
Jesper Binzer and bass player Stig Pedersen of D-A-D took a break from recording their new album to appear on the "Rock and Roll Geek Show" (web site) in San Francisco. They discuss the new album, the producer and D-A-D's career.
You can download the interview as an MP3 audio file at this location.
The group's ninth studio album, "Scare Yourself" topped the album chart in Denmark upon its release in May 2005.
