DAATH's KEVIN TALLEY Lays Down Drum Tracks On 'METAL' MIKE's 'The Metalworker'

June 7, 2010

Kevin Talley (DAATH, MISERY INDEX, DYING FETUS, HATE ETERNAL) has completed tracking all the drum parts for HALFORD guitarist "Metal" Mike Chlasciak's upcoming solo album, "The Metalworker".

"Kevin has come very highly recommended through a friend of mine," Mike states. " And as these things go, I went and searched a few things on the Internet and I immediately became a very, very quick fan of Kevin's drumming. I'll be honest, some of things I have seen him do just plainly blew me away. He is phenomenally fast, very precise, hits hard and he generally seemed like a no-frills, hard-working guy."

He adds, "'The Metalworker' album contains a major dose of unrelenting ideas, but at the same time, I did not want to lose the traditional metal sensibilities that I carry with me. Kevin understood this and I am humbled by his incredible performances. He really played perfect drums for the music. His power and performance will be a treat for you to hear. It's very exciting for me to record my guitars at this time."

Comments Talley: "As a full-time studio drummer, it is sometimes overwhelming to constantly track ultra-technical brutal death metal songs. But while tracking 'The Metalworker' album for Metal Mike, it reminds me why I got into metal in the first place … straight-forward brutal catchy riffs without any of the B.S. associated with most metal bands today. This is the 'meat and potatoes' of metal, if you will. It's not one of those 'Can I have a side salad, please?' type of bands. The album plows with killer riffage, ragin' leads, and ultra-sick double bass for days."

The first headlining show from "Metal" Mike Chlasciak and his solo band, which took place Saturday, May 22 at Dingbatz Club in Clifton, New Jersey, was filmed for the "Project: American Studio" documentary series. In addition, Chlasciak joined German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR on stage at the Blender Theater in New York City on May 20 and at Jaxx in Springfield, Virginia on May 21 to perform a cover version of the JUDAS PRIEST classic "Metal Gods".

Mike's solo band:

* "Metal" Mike Chlasciak (HALFORD, SEBASTIAN BACH) - Guitar
* Carlos Zema (OUTWORLD) - Vocals
* John Macaluso (ARK, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, JAMES LABRIE) - Drums
* Clint Arent (PAINMUSEUM, AUTUMN HOUR) - Bass
