March 14, 2005

Zero-Sum Recordings has announced a distribution agreement with Sony/BMG Music Entertainment's RED Distribution and a marketing agreement with Red Ink. Zero-Sum is a new label founded by DROWNING POOL (Wind-Up),DAMAGEPLAN (Atlantic) and LOSA (Metal Blade) manager Paul Bassman and Chris Paluska, manager of LOSA and former tour manager for DAMAGEPLAN.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to be with RED Distribution while utilizing the services of their Red Ink marketing division," says Zero-Sum president Paul Bassman. "To have a label with the same distribution as incredible labels like Victory, Metal Blade, Trustkill and Ferret is something I've always wanted. We truly look forward to building some life-long careers through Zero-Sum."

The first signing to Zero-Sum is Dallas, TX-based JACKNIFE. The record was produced by D. Braxton Henry and will see a June 2005 release. "The recording turned out great," says VP/GM and head of A&R Chris Paluska. "I'm excited to launch our label with JACKNIFE."
