DANNY DIABLO Announces SKARHEAD Reunion Tour

September 18, 2008

The innovator of "thugcore" Danny Diablo (a.k.a. Lord Ezec) has announced a SKARHEAD reunion tour that will start on the West Coast in September and be followed by an East Coast run in October. Danny will be performing twice during the tour, once fronting hardcore legends SKARHEAD, and then doing a set of hip-hop material with the SHOTBLOCKERS featuring CeeKay, Puerto Rican Myke and others.

Danny Diablo recently released his solo debut, "Thugcore 4 Life", through Suburban Noize Records.

SKARHEAD's impact on the world of hardcore has been felt for over a decade. The seven-piece group was formed from the ashes of New York-based hardcore act CROWN OF THORNS and quickly earned the respect of the scene with the release of their debut EP "Drugs, Money and Sex". From there the group signed with Victory Records for the release of their debut full-length "Kings at Crime", which allowed them to tour the world several times over and appear on the Warped Tour. The group's presence is still felt within the scene influencing a slew of new age hardcore bands.

Danny Diablo is currently touring in support of "Thugcore 4 Life", which is a combination of New York style hardcore and hip-hop mixed together to create something truly unique. The album features guest appearances by some of hip-hop and rock's biggest names including Daddy X (KOTTONMOUTH KINGS),the Sub Hoodz Stress and Harley Havok, DJ Lethal (HOUSE OF PAIN),Slain, Danny Boy and LA COKA NOSTRA's Big Left and Ceekay. Danny Diablo's video for the track for "Funky Rhyme" featuring Daddy X of the KOTTONMOUTH KINGS can be seen below.

"It's the same thing," Diablo says commenting on what brought this hardcore veteran to hip-hop. "I'm from the same neighborhood. I'm from Jackson Heights, Queens. Growing up, I was in an area of Queens that always had rappers walking around like Kool G Rap (and) Eric B. I grew up in rap. I listened to rap before I listened to metal. Then I got to metal and then I got to hardcore. But it's the same thing, hardcore and rap. In the '80s, they were talking about the same thing struggles and stuff like that.”
