DARK FUNERAL Confirm DOMINION's Departure, Vow To Carry On

August 15, 2002

Sweden's DARK FUNERAL have officially confirmed the departure of guitarist Dominion from the group's ranks (as first reported here on August 11th). The following is a statement from bassist/vocalist Emperor Magus Caligula:

"It's a sad day for DARK FUNERAL. Dominion, our brother and long-time friend has decided to leave the band.

"The reason for his departure is that he felt it was time to move on, and try something different. The purpose of this statement is to let our fans know the truth from us first. This way people who 'like' to talk about DARK FUNERAL cannot start false rumors.

"The truth is: it was his decision, he didn't commit suicide, nor is he in jail for murder or church burnings. But most importantly he wasn't kicked out from DARK FUNERAL.

"Dominion has been a great friend (and still is) to all of us. It will not be easy to replace him. DARK FUNERAL will continue to work on new material as we work through the difficult choice of replacing our comrade.

"But this I promise: DARK FUNERAL will continue their fight against Christianity.

"I and DARK FUNERAL wish him the best of luck in the future, and hope that we will hear Dominion's great talent somewhere else.

"He will be missed by us all, but we WILL be back, stronger than ever.

"We came, we saw, we lived forever. Thus I have spoken, Hail Satan. -- E.M. Caligula"
