DARK NEW DAY Announces New Guitarist

May 29, 2008

Drummer Will Hunt (EVANESCENCE, DARK NEW DAY, MTLEY CRE, SKRAPE, TOMMY LEE, STUCK MOJO) has issued the following update:

"We would like to announce the addition of our new guitar player [Brad] BC Kochmit to DARK NEW DAY!

"For those who know who he is, you know why we sought him out hes the perfect combination of Troy [McLawhorn; former DARK NEW DAY guitarist; also EVANESCENCE, ex-DOUBLE DRIVE] and Clint [Lowery, former DARK NEW DAY and current SEVENDUST guitarist]. BC is a bad, bad man and we're honored to have him on board.

"For those who dont know, BC was the guitar player and songwriter for SWITCHED and most recently RICKETS. I met Brad while I was playing with Tommy Lee and SWITCHED was out with us for that tour and Ozzfest. That's when I knew some day I gotta play with that guy!! Corey [Lowery, current DARK NEW DAY bassist] did a brief stint in SWITCHED after that tour, and that's where the bond between those two started as friends and songwriters. They penned the track 'Who Feels' on the last SWITCHED record (which we also recorded but didn't release for our first record). Brett Hestla [DARK NEW DAY singer] will also once again (and this is awesome too, Brett's a BAD-ASS guitar player) be picking up the guitar. Those that saw VIRGOS MERLOT know what I'm talkin about!!

"So that's that. We're streamlined and ready to fuckin' kill it! We're looking at doing some shows in August so stay tuned.

"As for the record, lots going on, but alas, nothing I can talk about. Yes, we're going to get it to you soon, but we gotta let some things play out. So in the meantime, here's two new songs to dig on.

"'I Don't Need You' was one of the first songs we demoed for this new album and recorded on our own. It WILL NOT be on the new album. 'Fiend' is also a demo version that will not be on the new album that we recorded with our buddy Rick Beato. It's a rough mix, and it is one of three versions of this song that exist. All versions are very different. Some lucky people got to listen to the third and album version yesterday when we had it up for a few hours, so you guys will hear the difference! In about two weeks, we'll put up the second version for you to check out. Just a little glimpse into how we work and try to constantly evolve until everyone's feelin' it. The idea here is that we have enough of this stuff to put out three records, so between now and when we sort out this new album stuff we're going to put together a series of online albums that feature all of this unreleased stuff!! Look for the first instalment to be available in about 6 to 8 weeks. Between now and then we'll keep giving you guys a little taste of what will be on these three albums. This is by NO MEANS going to be your typical 'B-sides' release. This shit kicks ass and it's far from 'B-side' material!! WE fought and argued because we wanted all of these songs to come out. Tons of really cool stuff, so get ready!!!

"Our plan live is to play some of the 'Twelve Year Silence' material, some of this demo shit that we love, and some tracks from the soon to be released new album. So keep checkin' in and as soon as we have some ligitimate info on the new album status we will let you know, but this new stuff should satiate the appetite for some new DARK NEW DAY stuff. We love this shit and know you will too; that's why we're putting it out!! Thank you all so much for the love, support, and good vibes. We can't wait to finally let you hear and see that we have in fact been a very WORKING and ACTIVE band over the last two years. Stay tuned!"

DARK NEW DAY released its debut album, "Twelve Year Silence", in June of 2005. The disc featured the single "Brother".
