DARK TRANQUILLITY: Japanese Concert Footage Posted Online
January 19, 2008Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have issued the following update:
"The Asian tour was a phenomenal experience, and yesterday's show in Tokyo really reminded us about how the Japanese fans are among the most dedicated and devoted in the world. Huge thanks to all that attended the shows, the excellent promotors/crew and, of course, to THE HAUNTED for being great as usual."
Fan-filmed video footage of DARK TRANQUILLITY's January 18, 2008 concert in Tokyo, Japan can be viewed below.
DARK TRANQUILLITY's "Haven" (2000) and "Projector" (1999) albums were reissued in Japan this month to coincide with the group's Japanese tour. Both albums feature lengthy liner notes by vocalist Mikael Stanne detailing the songwriting and recording process as well as the inner working of the band at the time of creating the songs. In addition, "Projector" features the extra track "Exposure" — previously unreleased in Japan — and "Haven" is graced with "Cornered" as a bonus song.
DARK TRANQUILLITY's new album, "Fiction", was released in April 2007 via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by Tue Madsen (HIMSA, THE HAUNTED) and "encompasses all of the elements on which the band built their career: thought-provoking lyrics, shredding guitar work, captivating melodies and sheer brutality," according to a press release.
