DARK TRANQUILLITY: 'Zero Distance' Video Released

September 22, 2011

Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have released a video for the song "Zero Distance", taken from the upcoming tour edition of the band's latest album, "We Are The Void", which will be released in Europe on October 24 via Century Media Records. The clip is the first official music video from Aduro Labs, a new film/production enterprise launched by DARK TRANQUILLITY's own Niklas Sundin, video photographer Peter Herneheim and post-production editor Love Andersson. The aim of Aduro Labs is to produce creative, original and aesthetically challenging video/animation work in a diverse range of styles. Further projects will be announced in the near future.

"Zero Distance" is only one of the rarities included in "We Are The Void (Tour Edition)". Niklas Sundin explains, "'Zero Distance' was recorded at the same time as the 'We Are The Void' album, but due to its different nature we decided to keep it for later use. The time is now right to unveil the song, as well as the other rare/bonus material recorded at the same time, in a massive 'We Are The Void' tour edition package. In addition to the added songs and liner notes by Mikael [Stanne, vocals], there's also a live DVD capturing some special moments during the 150-and-counting gigs in support of the album."

DARK TRANQUILLITY's ninth album, "We Are The Void", sold around 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 15 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

DARK TRANQUILLITY guitarist Niklas Sundin has always been responsible for the band's visual presentation, including cover art, merchandise designs and, more recently, live video projections. His design studio, Cabin Fever, has also created artwork for such other acts as ARCH ENEMY and TURISAS.

"We Are The Void" was released in North America on March 9, 2010 via Century Media Records. The LP was made available in Europe as a CD, digital download and strictly limited-edition die-cut digipak featuring two bonus songs ("Stars Of Nothingness" and "To Where Fires Cannot Feed") and a bonus DVD.

DARK TRANQUILLITY will headline the European Neckbreaker's Ball tour in October/November with support from ELUVEITIE, MERCENARY, VARG, GURD and OMNIUM GATHERUM.
