DARKANE Guitarist Names Solo Project

September 23, 2003

DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström has set NON-HUMAN LEVEL as the name of his forthcoming solo project, which will feature appearances by MESHUGGAH bassist Gustaf Hielm, DARKANE drummer Peter Wildoer (on vocals!) and THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND/GOD AWAKENS PETRIFIED drummer Ryan Van Poederooyen. "[Christofer] came up with the name to describe all the craziness of what's going on in the world today and the madness that people can create = NON-HUMAN LEVEL," Van Poederooyen writes on his web site. "I've received demos of more than half of the album in MP3 format, which Christofer has sent me over the last couple months and all I can say is it is some crazy shit! The level of playing Christofer wants on this record is going to be intense and the songs are far from Top 40 music. You want metal......you're going to get a shitload of it. The plan so far is to aim recording the album for the summer of 2004.

"I also heard the guest guitar solo that Christofer did for the band PREACHER (I recorded the drum tracks for PREACHER earlier this year)," Van Poederooyen continues. "INSANE! The solo is an awesome display of Christofer's awesome talent. The song he played on is called 'None and All'. PREACHER are on bass tracks right now and hope to have their debut album out for early next year. Look out for it, PREACHER is working on their web site you can check it out at www.fearthepreacher.com.

"I'm going to be touring with THE DEVIN TOWNSEND BAND for a few weeks across Canada then under a month after that tour ends we will go on tour with SYMPHONY X across the USA and a couple of dates in Canada again. C'ya on the road people!"
