DARKANE: Mixing Sessions For New Album Delayed
June 9, 2008Swedish thrashers DARKANE have issued the following update on the mixing sessions for the group's new studio album, "Demonic Art", due later in the year via Nuclear Blast Records:
"The mixing progress has been a little delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, but Peter [Wildoer, drums] has now set a very good, tight and aggressive sound to the album, and we are looking to finish the mixing any day now... or week.
"If you live in the south of Sweden you should make sure to see us in Helsingborg at the Helsingborg Festivalen July 25th together with other bands such as SOILWORK etc. There's no fee and DARKANE will play on Grningen at 7 PM. Be there!"
DARKANE has scheduled the following Swiss dates in November:
Nov. 06 - Nouveau Monde - Fribourg, Switzerland
Nov. 07 - La Bourdonnire - Le Locle (NE),Switzerland
Nov. 08 - Transilvania - Erstfeld (UR),Switzerland
DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmstrm previously revealed that the lyrics to "Demonic Art" "are based on the same theme as on 'Organic Canvas' (from our previous album 'Layers of Lies'),about an individual planning his next exhibition of flesh."

DARKANE played its first show with new singer Jens Broman (CONSTRUCDEAD, THE DEFACED) in November 2007 at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. According to Christofer Malmstrm, "Jens enjoyed every second of the show, and so did the rest of us. Our former vocalist Andreas was in the audience to support us, and he was very postive afterwards... along with the rest of the crowd."
DARKANE's upcoming DVD was shot in May 2006 in the band's hometown of Helsingborg, Sweden.
