DARKANE Music Featured In Touring Horse-And-Elephant Show

June 10, 2006

DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmström has posted the following message on his official web site:

"In April we did a European tour with SADUS and GORY BLISTER. I would say we had a good time and the touring company was great! Thanks guys! Also, thanks to all of you who attended the shows. We felt very welcome and enjoyed playing a lot! When the tour was over we did an off show in our hometown Helsingborg in the beginning of May. This show was filmed with eight cameras and proffesionally recorded. If it turns out to be good we will release the show on DVD together with a lot of extra material. We havent seen the result yet, but will start working on that during the summer.

"Peter [Wildoer, drums] will be filling in with SOILWORK on a few summer festivals since their original drummer Dirk currently lives in Los Angeles. This does not affect DARKANE. We have an upcoming show at the Graspop Metal Meeting June 23rd in Belgium, and we are looking forward to play a big festival stage again.

"Some time ago a touring horse-and-elephant show asked us for permission to use our song 'The Creation Insane' in their show. We said yes, and last week they hit our hometown, so Jörgen [Löfberg, bass], Peter and I went to see it. It was quite amazing! One hour or something into their set two guys covered with leather entered on one horse each while DARKANE was played loud from the speakers. The horsemen did all kinds of rodeo tricks, jumping on and off the horse while it was running, standing on their arms on the horses backs and stuff. The kids in the audience went balistic, and I thought it was cool too, but at the same time I laughed at myself since this was not what I had in mind when I wrote the song with Peter AT ALL!!! Sometimes things don't turn out the way it was planned. The show will tour in Sweden during the summer, so if you have a chance, go see it. Unfortunately I've forgotten the name of it."

DARKANE recently completed a U.S. tour in support of their fourth album, "Layers of Lies", available now on Nuclear Blast Records. It is the follow-up to the band's third studio CD, "Expanding Senses", which was released in 2002.
