DAVE LOMBARDO Shoots Down GRIP INC. Reunion Rumors

April 3, 2015

Poland's AntyRadio.pl recently conducted an interview with former SLAYER and current PHILM drummer Dave Lombardo. You can now watch the chat in two parts below.

Asked if there is any truth to reports that there will be a resurrected version of Lombardo's GRIP INC. project featuring Casey Chaos from AMEN on vocals, Dave said: "No, that's not happening. I am not in AMEN, I don't play in the band AMEN, and Casey is not playing in GRIP INC.

"I believe that Gus Chambers, the [GRIP INC.] singer that died, I believe that he… You can't replace him. He's a singer… very strong. He's a very strong vocalist, and, unfortunately, he passed away, and we can't replace him. GRIP INC. is over."

GRIP INC.'s fourth studio LP, "Incorporated", was released in March 2004 through SPV Records. The follow-up to 1999's "Solidify" was recorded and mixed at Woodhouse studios in Hagen, Germany and was produced by the group's guitarist, Waldemar Sorychta (THE GATHERING, LACUNA COIL, SENTENCED, MOONSPELL).

Chambers died on October 13, 2008 at the age of 52. Initial reports indicated that he took his own life, but an inquisition report later stated that it was an accidental death caused by a mixture of medication and alcohol.

Lombardo laid down the drums on AMEN's new studio album, which is due later in the year.
