DAVE MUSTAINE, EXODUS, KERRY KING, IN FLAMES And Others Tell Their Most Harrowing Road Stories

July 2, 2008

Exclusive videos of MEGADETH's Dave Mustaine, IN FLAMES' Björn Gelotte, SLAYER's Kerry King, DOWN's Pepper Keenan and many others telling their most harrowing, amusing, wild, and crazy road stories can now be viewed at GuitarWorld.com in a special "Road Rash" gallery feature.

Gary Holt and Lee Altus from EXODUS tell a story about a drunken brawl on an airplane in the summer of 2006; Jon Donais and Matt Bachand from SHADOWS FALL recall freezing a groupie's pants on their tour bus while she slept; LAMB OF GOD guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler reminisce about a one-legged fan with a colostomy bag storming the stage; SLAYER's Kerry King talks about a potentially dangerous moment during "Angel of Death" on the "South of Heaven" tour and more.

The most shocking story comes from Dave Mustaine, who tells the tale of being in a taxi in Atlanta as the driver takes his eye off the road and hits a woman, killing her instantly. "The driver turned around and said to me, 'I hit that sucker right square clean in the head,' then he made a racist comment and I told him to pull over. We all got out on the side of the freeway and waited for the police. I was so freaked out that that guy had just done that and said that… I really don't understand that mentality down in the South."
