DAVE MUSTAINE Says MEGADETH Will Tour With MOTRHEAD, VOLBEAT, LACUNA COIL

September 20, 2011

Street Date recently conducted an interview with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine. You can now watch the chat below.

Speaking of MEGADETH's upcoming touring plans (possibly as part of Gigantour, the acclaimed traveling heavy music festival launched by Mustaine),Dave said, "This year coming up we're gonna be having us, MOTRHEAD, a great band that's coming up called VOLBEAT and LACUNA COIL."

On the topic of his current relationship with his former bandmates in METALLICA, Mustaine said, "I'm looking forward to the time when me and Lars [Ulrich, METALLICA drummer] and James [Hetfield, guitar/vocals] and David Ellefson [MEGADETH bassist] make a record together.

"I remember when Cliff [Burton, METALLICA bassist] died [in 1986], there was a moment where Dave's [Ellefson] name had come up [as a possible replacement]. And I was a little concerned; I didn't wanna lose my bassist and I certainly didn't wanna have another reason to be upset [with the METALLICA guys]. God knows I had my reasons [for being angry], even though they weren't all real. A lot of them were caused by myself. I just don't think I would have done well if I would have known that that happened. And fortunately, I think those guys took that into account and just said, 'Let's find someone else,' and they found Jason [Newsted]."
