DAVID SHANKLE GROUP Rejoined By Singer KYLE MICHAELS

December 26, 2008

DAVID SHANKLE GROUP (DSG),the band led by former MANOWAR guitarist David Shankle, has rejoined forces with singer Kyle Michaels following a brief collaboration with Chitral "Chity" Somapala (AVALON, FIREWIND, FARO, MOONLIGHT AGONY, RED CIRCUIT). The band's current lineup also includes keyboardist Drake Mefestta and drummer Gabriel Anthony.

Commented Kyle Michaels: "I'm back with David and together we have reformed DSG with all-new members. Starting with players that the two of us have handpicked from the experience, great attitude, world-class talent and the look that David and I believe our audience deserves. All the while knowing we have all the material from the first two DSG records, we are writing a new record and getting ready to put a live show together with a mix of new material and an intoxicating witching brew of our past. We are filling a void that has been missing for years in our generation of music. Great songs, great live show… heavy-as-hell, powerful, shredding guitars with soaring killer vocals, all on top of a monstrous rhythm section complimented by orchestral compositions of the most eerie and familiar nightmare."

DAVID SHANKLE GROUP's MySpace page has been updated with rare and unreleased material, starting with 2007's "Hellborn" CD. According to Kyle, "These recordings are with the original DSG lineup from 'Hellborn', except what you hear now is Drake's performances from collaborations with David and I have re-recorded all the vocals. These are my performances from the collaborations with David giving these songs the twists, turns, melody and power they deserve. As you listen to these songs, you can imagine what the new DSG material will sound like that we are now writing for the new record… it's everything you expect from DSG and delivers much more than ever heard before. Included here are 'The Lie', 'Asylum God' and 'Bleeding Hell', all produced by David Shankle. The next sets of songs are the original and very first recordings David and I completed for Magic Circle Music when I became the new singer in DSG in 2005. These recordings of the 'Ashes To Ashes' CD feature the lineup and performances from the actual record…. with the only difference being my vocal performances from my collaborations with David. These recordings included 'Ashes To Ashes', 'Raven At Midnight' and 'Curse Of The Pharaoh'. Again, all are produced by David Shankle."

He added: "The music you hear now and what you will witness from the new DSG lineup will be a very unique blend of venom and antidote, as we shed our skin and reveal our new sound and our new self."
