DAYLIGHT DIES Seek Vocalist

June 28, 2003

Relapse recording artists DAYLIGHT DIES are now actively searching for a new vocalist due to current vocalist Guthrie Iddings moving out of state to study. For those not familiar with DAYLIGHT DIES, the band released a debut album, "No Reply"", on Relapse Records (www.relapse.com) in 2003 showcasing their dark emotional melodic approach to death/doom metal, as well as a demo CD released in 2000 on Tribunal Records. The band have just returned from a high-profile world tour in support of the album, which took the band throughout the U.K., Ireland, Belgium and Holland as the warm-up act for KATATONIA (Peaceville Records),and throughout the Eastern U.S. and Canada in support of LACUNA COIL (Century Media Records). DAYLIGHT DIES have performed several other high profile shows, such as the CMJ showcase in NYC, the Relapse Contamination Festival in Philadelphia, and the Milwaukee Metalfest in Milwaukee, to name just a few. For more information on DAYLIGHT DIES, including mp3 music samples, visit www.relapse.com or www.daylight-dies.com.

"There are several required criteria for those interested," the group said in an official statement. "They include complete dedication and priority given to the band, ability to tour for at least one month per year — including ability to travel out of the U.S., ability to play festivals/other shows on a regular week/weekend basis, ability to set aside time for recording of second full-length, ability to rehearse for several hours three times a week, and desire to contribute the best of your talent to a band you believe in. Must be able to get along excellent with band and overall be THE front man we are looking for.

"Vocally we are looking for someone who can sing mainly in the low to mid 'growl' range. Vocal power and stamina are required. Ability to sing clean melodic vocals is also a HUGE plus.

"IF INTERESTED, contact the band directly as soon as possible. Recorded example of your singing is greatly preferred, but if not, we will arrange something. EMAIL: [email protected] (preferred). PHONE: 919-834-4364 or 919-602-0492"
