DAYLIGHT DIES To Begin Mixing New Album Next Week
September 22, 2005North Carolina-based doom/death metallers DAYLIGHT DIES have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Recording sessions for our new album, 'Dismantling Devotion', was completed this weekend. Mixing will begin with Jens Bogren at Fascination Studios in Örebro, Sweden next week. The past couple weeks saw Barre finishing up the massive guitar work, Nathan laying down vocals and Egan completing all the bass as well as a couple clean vocal parts. In a strange twist of fate, Matthew Golombisky (our bassist from the demo days) happened to be in town for short while after the city where he lived and performed — New Orleans — was nearly destroyed from Hurricane Katrina. We asked him to lend his talents on cello for one of the new tracks and thankfully he agreed. As it turns out, his phenomenal (and antique) up-right bass ended up sounding much better, so we ended up using it instead. Big thanks to Matt for his time.
"The mixing and mastering should be completed sometime in early October. Issues such as release date will be revealed as soon as everything is settled. We'll certainly keep you posted. As previously promised, here are a couple more photos. You can also check our these poor quality short videos, shot with a small digicam (requires DiVX)."

As previously reported, "Dismantling Devotion" will run just under an hour in length and the CD's packaging will feature photography by Jeff Brubaker, with Agni Kaster (KATATONIA's "Brave Yester Days" and BLOODBATH's "Nightmares Made Flesh") continuing work on the post-photo process.
