DEATH ANGEL Guitarist: 'Prepare For A Sonic Beatdown!'

August 17, 2007

Guitarist Rob Cavestany from San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL has issued the following update:

"The jam last night was one of the best yet. As we approach the final phase of writing for this [new DEATH ANGEL] album, we are so locked in its insane.

"After months of attacking the mission to create a slab of heaviness that will satisfy our voracious hunger for THRASH, we have arrived at our destination!

"The plan is to continue writing for the next couple of weeks and enter the recording studio by September. I will kick down the details soon as to who we will choose to work with and where. Also will throw some song titles your way, perhaps the album title as well... but not yet!

"Sit tight now, children…

"Back to the music. Fuckin heavy as fuck! Dark vibe throughout, twisted and maniacal. Brutally solid and melodic at once. Urgent and triumphant driven by pain and angst. Different cuts keep getting stuck in my head as the obsession with this record deepens. It's crushing and oh-so-tasty!

"Dying to give you the details, but not until the word is final (you know how we do) so keep checking back. I promise not to keep you waiting like I usually do! We can't help it if we are the unconventionally ambiguous bastards of thrash!

"Thanks for sticking with us. Prepare for a sonic beatdown!"

Rob Cavestany will perform at a private-invitation-only party for STUF-TV cable show "Robb's MetalWorks" on Sunday, August 26 at the Cabo Grille in San Antonio. Rob will play material from his upcoming solo disc and will be joined on second guitar by DEATH ANGEL's Ted Aguilar. Rob's performance at the party, coupled with an interview, will be taped for a future episode of "Robb's MetalWorks". This promises to be a special event as attendees (limited to 76) will receive commemorative shirts, koozies and giveaways throughout the night. Support will come from Paloma recording artists and San Antonio break-outs MAN OF SORROWS.

DEATH ANGEL's latest CD, "The Art of Dying", was released in May 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records. The group's first studio album since 1990's "Act III" was recorded at SF Soundworks studios in San Francisco, California with producer Brian Joseph Dobbs (VOIVOD, MANMADEGOD).
