Death Metal Illustrator MIKE HRUBOVCAK To Take Part In NYC Gallery Show Tomorrow

September 25, 2008

Mike Hrubovcak, vocalist for the bands MONSTROSITY and VILE and death metal illustrator/album cover artist for such groups as MORTICIAN, SINISTER, GRAVE, AVULSED, CATTLE DECAPITATION, XXX MANIAK, RUMPELSTILTSKIN GRINDER and BRAIN DRILL, and his company VisualDarkness will be part of an art gallery show in New York City tomorrow night (Friday, September 26) at Headquarters Studio NYC, 385 Broadway, 2F (2 blocks south of Canal St. Between Walker and White St.). Several VisualDarkness pieces will be on display among a handful of other exhibits, not to mention... free tap beer and vodka all night, and it's free to the public!

Hrubovcak recently launched an online poster art store of his album cover art through his web site VisualDarkness.com.

Hrubovcak stated: "I've been getting tons of requests for prints and large posters of my artwork that people want to get framed and hang on their walls, so I finally took the time to try and make this happen. Small prints of pretty much any illustration/album cover I've done are available now on glossy card stock paper. I also have 18"x12" posters on up to huge 30"x30" wall posters. T-shirts and fabric wall tapestries are in the works as well."

He continued, "I remember when I was a kid trying to find posters of some of my favorite death metal album covers, but only succeeding in finding one Dan Seagrave cover for the PESTILENCE 'Testimony of the Ancients' album, which is still proudly framed and displayed above my couch to this day. I figure if i can give people the opportunity to horrify their parents or house guests with visions of corpses and zombies, or even to have some twisted art hanging up to trip out to, then its been a job well done."
