DEATHRASH: New CD To Feature Early Live/Demo Material, New Recordings

Bassist/founding member Pat Burns of the long-defunct New Jersey thrashers DEATHRASH has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"After 20 years I'm surprised people remembered the band let alone going on about their favorite song. Me and the boys are in the process of picking the best 'live' tunes from a few shows in '86-'87. We have recordings of our first big show at CBGB's, The Grunge Club in upstate NY and our last show at The Electric Banana in Pittsburgh. We are also in the process of re-mixing the 'Faces Of Death' demo as we no longer have the original mix down tape. We are going to keep it as close as possible to the original. Also we are going to put two new recordings on the CD; a 2006 version of 'Buried Alive' — our song that was on 'Speed Metal Hell 2' and a new song called 'Unfinished Business' that really thrashes. I'll keep you posted as the CD develops but I would figure on a late spring release and it will be a available through our soon-to-be-up website. All the original members are involved: John Scherer (vocals),Pat Nemeth (guitar),Tim Scherer (guitar) and me (bass),and we are auditioning drummers for the new material. Our long-term goal (within a year) is to do shows."

DEATHRASH's lineup had briefly included drummer Tony Scaglione, who had previously played with WHIPLASH, SLAYER, LUDICHRIST and RAGING SLAB, among other acts.
