DEATHRIDE's FAFARA: We Will Break New Ground In Heavy Metal Scene
February 28, 2003California's DEATHRIDE, the new project featuring COAL CHAMBER frontman Dez Fafara, have started pre-production on their debut album, tentatively titled "Thirteen", with producer Ross Hogarth (COAL CHAMBER, MÖTLEY CRÜE, FASTER PUSSYCAT).
"I'd like everybody to know that we're getting ready to break new ground in the heavy metal scene. DEATHRIDE will be the first heavy metal band to record a full-length album using only stand-up bass, don't be fooled by what your seeing in videos by other bands. We will be the first to use this instrument in heavy metal music, EVER.
"We are very proud to be bringing back the backbeat which has been lost since people stopped using this big beautiful instrument, the upright bass."
DEATHRIDE's debut album is tentatively due in July through Roadrunner Records.
