DEATHSTARS Sign With NUCLEAR BLAST RECORDS
July 15, 2003Sweden's DEATHSTARS have inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Records. The group's debut album, "Synthetic Generation" — originally issued in Sweden in March 2002 via the Universal affiliate LED Recordings — will be released through Nuclear Blast on November 10.
DEATHSTARS, in existence since January 2000, were previously known as SWORDMASTER and feature in their ranks former DISSECTION drummer Ole Öhman and guitarist Emil Nödtveidt (brother of DISSECTION leader Jon). The group's musical style is being described as "powerful industrial metal," and is said to be not a million miles removed from that of PAIN, RAMMSTEIN and MARILYN MANSON.
The band, whose lineup is rounded out by vocalist Andreas Bergh and guitarist Erik Halvorsen, have completed two video clips thus far and will be featured on the upcoming 2-DVD compilation "Monsters Of Metal" with the track "Synthetic Generation".
