November 4, 2010

"Superskum" (web site) conducted an interview with vocalist Bill Robinson of Santa Cruz, California tech-death masters DECREPIT BIRTH when the band played in Denver, Colorado on October 27, 2010. You can now watch the chat below.

"Polarity", the third album from DECREPIT BIRTH, sold around 1,300 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD landed at position No. 18 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

"Polarity" was released on July 27 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD artwork was completed by cult artist Dan Seagrave (MORBID ANGEL, ENTOMBED, SUFFOCATION).

Drums for "Polarity" were tracked at Sharkbite Studios (MACHINE HEAD, EXODUS) in Oakland with producer Zack Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, SUFFOCATION, IMMOLATION) while the rest of the recordings were overseen by guitarist Matt Sotelo before the entire effort was mixed by Ohren at Castle Ultimate Studios.

DECREPIT BIRTH recently filmed a video for the song "The Resonance" with director Ann Christin "Anki" Rihm, a former VJ/producer for MTV Norway's "Headbangers Ball".
