DECREPIT BIRTH Parts Ways With Guitarist MIKE TURNER

November 12, 2006

Santa Cruz, California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have parted ways with guitarist Mike Turner. According to a posting on the band's web site, "This will in NO way interfere with the new album. We will move on as a band, and all plans for recording the new album in early 2007 are still set."

As previously reported, DECREPIT BIRTH has set "Diminishing Between Worlds" as the title of its new album, tentatively due next year via Unique Leader Records. "This album will be a step in more of a melodic and progressive direction yet still have a heavy dose of technical brutality," guitarist/vocalist Matt Sotelo previously said. "Very reminiscent of bands such as later DEATH, CYNIC and QUO VADIS mixed with the brutality that DECREPIT BIRTH is known for. We are really trying to do something new with album, and we feel that we have grown as musicians and that 'Diminishing Between Worlds' will be a reflection of that. We are very happy to get to work with Unique Leader Records again, and we are confident that they will greatly contribute to the success of DECREPIT BIRTH from now into the future. The album will feature session/touring bassist Erlend Caspersen (BLOOD RED THRONE, ALL SEEING I). Artwork will be by none other than Dan Seagrave."

DECREPIT BIRTH's debut album, "...And Time Begins", was released in October 2003 via Unique Leader Records.
