DECREPIT BIRTH: Studio Update
May 11, 2007Santa Cruz, California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH entered Castle Ultimate studios on May 8 with engineer/producer Zack Ohren to begin recording their second album, "Diminishing between Worlds". The CD will be released later this year on Unique Leader Records. "Everything is going AMAZING!" guitarist/vocalist Matt Sotelo said. "KC's [Howard] drums are done and sounding killer. I'll be starting guitars in about a week, so stay tuned. It's going great and we'll probably have this album out around fall!"

Matt Sotelo previously said about the upcoming CD, "This album will be a step in more of a melodic and progressive direction yet still have a heavy dose of technical brutality. Very reminiscent of bands such as later DEATH, CYNIC and QUO VADIS mixed with the brutality that DECREPIT BIRTH is known for. We are really trying to do something new with album, and we feel that we have grown as musicians and that 'Diminishing Between Worlds' will be a reflection of that. We are very happy to get to work with Unique Leader Records again, and we are confident that they will greatly contribute to the success of DECREPIT BIRTH from now into the future. Artwork will be by none other than Dan Seagrave."
DECREPIT BIRTH recently announced the return of bassist Risha Eryavec to the group's ranks. The band's debut album, "...And Time Begins", was released in October 2003 via Unique Leader Records.
