DEEP PURPLE Confirmed For France's FESTIVAL DES VIEILLES CHARRUES
May 20, 2005According to Deep-Purple.net, DEEP PURPLE have been confirmed for the Festival des Vieilles Charrues in Brittany, northern France. They are due to headline on the first day (Friday, July 22) of the three-day event. Other acts on the bill include NEW ORDER and BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. Tickets and information are available from the festival web site.
DEEP PURPLE began recording their new studio album on April 1, 2005 at producer Mike Bradford's own studio, and were due to work on it for much of the month. The writing sessions from earlier in the year mean that everyone was primed, and Mike says they were planning a couple of longer songs to showcase the band instrumentally a little more.
DEEP PURPLE recently formally announced that they have left EMI Records, with whom they released "Abandon", "Live At Olympia" and "Bananas". Apart from back catalogue, this marks the end of EMI's current links with the DEEP PURPLE family after more than 40 years.
