DEEP PURPLE Drummer Lays Down More Tracks For MOONSTONE Project

October 5, 2005

DEEP PURPLE drummer Ian Paice was in Italy on September 21 to record two new songs for MOONSTONE, the project of Italian guitarist Matteo Filippini. Check out a photo at TheHighwayStar.com. The tracks recorded during the session, "One Dollar Baby" and "Halfway to Heaven", will be included on MOONSTONE's second album. The project's first CD, "Time to Take a Stand", which also features Ian Paice, will be released in the early 2006.

Described as "genuine British-oriented '70s classic rock," not a million miles removed from the likes of FREE, JIMI HENDRIX and DEEP PURPLE, MOONSTONE's debut album features guest appearances by an all-star cast of musicians, including Paice, Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH),Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, ALCATRAZZ, IMPELLITTERI, BLACKTHORNE),Eric Bloom (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT),John Lawton (ex-URIAH HEEP),and Paul Shortino (ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT, HEAVEN & EARTH).
