DEEP PURPLE drummer Ian Paice will join Italian guitarist Matt Filippini (MOONSTONE PROJECT) for two Spanish dates in January. The details are as follows:

Jan. 27 - Nave 8 - Alicante, SPA

As usual, the band will perform PURPLE material and other classic rock songs.

In other news, Filippini met Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) during Glenn's reent visit to Italy. "Glenn is really my brother, I love him and he's giving a lot of love to me too," says Matt. "A fantastic human being. We talked about the chance to do something special for 2007. I really hope 'cause I love the man and would be great to work together once again!"

Filippini's MOONSTONE PROJECT released its debut album, "Time to Take a Stand", earlier in the year. The CD is described as a collection of classic rock songs written by Filippini himself and played by his band, along with some rock legend guests: Ian Paice (DEEP PURPLE),Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH),Graham Bonnet (RAINBOW, MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP, ALCATRAZZ, IMPELLITTERI, BLACKTHORNE),Eric Bloom (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT),and Paul Shortino (ROUGH CUTT, QUIET RIOT, HEAVEN & EARTH).
