DEEP PURPLE's 'Concerto For Group And Orchestra' To Be Performed By Italian Jazz Musicians

Jon Lord's (ex-DEEP PURPLE) "Concert for Group and Orchestra" will be performed live in Italy by an Italian jazz trio and the "Arturo Toscanini Foundation" orchestra. The jazz band is composed by Vito Di Modugno (organ),Mimmo Campanale (drums) and Massimo Sutera (bass). Special guests will be guitarist Ricky Portera and popular Italian singer Alberto Fortis. The shows will take place on July 20 in Salsomaggiore Terme (Parma) and on July 21 in Rimini. Full details are available at Deep Purple Italia.

Jon Lord wrote the "Concerto" back in 1969. It was first performed by DEEP PURPLE in 1969 at the London Royal Albert Hall; in 1999, 30 years later, Jon Lord re-wrote the "Concerto" and the band played it again at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2000 and 2001 DEEP PURPLE performed the "Concerto" on a world tour, with Ronnie James Dio as a special guest.
